Well, yes. It is. It's also a task I have some familiarity with, having 
figured out several other systems from looking at disassembly listings.
Until now, though, it's always been expansion hardware based on a system 
that I was already familiar with...

Mmm... I'm know I'm not the only person who would appreciate having some
of your documentation scanned in and available.

Okay, I knew about the 2Kx16 RAM, but I hadn't run into the FIFO just 
yet...

Ah, thank you. The only one of those that I had the slightest idea about 
was the level 4 (and figuring that out involved a fun discussion on IRC).

Anyway, I'm not sure how far I'm going to go with this approach right now. 
There's still quite a bit to do on exploiter, after all...
