When you get new mail on this be sure to update your hosts.  This problem
will go away when the rest of the net agrees on where I am.

I've encountered this before, but I have yet to figure out how to deal
with it.  I've found the easiest way to fix it is to just remove the
directory and recheck it out.  PITA but one of these days I'll work it
out.  I think it has something to do with your copy of the repo.
